Tenement / Cheeky Split Ep

yet another great looking Tenement record that was submitted by the band, this one is a split Ep with Cheeky.  much like their previous releases that i have posted on here, Tenement front man Amos handled the all the art and layout work for the record.  stylistically, this is very much in line with the aesthetic he established thru a heavy use of found vintage photography collaged together with some hand set typography.  i also really like that he always sets these vintage images (which tend to be in some state of faded color or black & white) against a hard black background when he is building these pieces, it gives them a much needed pop of contrast....

these are 2 sided full color printed and folded cover sleeves where the back only gets a half panel.  i think this one actually might be my favorite piece from this layout.  i really like the movement in the photographs, the cropping of the images for abstraction, and the way they sit together on this panel.  it's creates an excellent mood for the record....

here is a shot of the cover unfolded to reveal the inner artwork.  another excellent collage composition with some typed up liner notes at the bottom.  the only bummer for me is that the type is upside down when you are looking at the image, which is just a personal design preference....

the A side label is awesome, i love the image of the little girl playing the xylophone and some hand brushed type with sitting with it.  it's creepy, it's cool, this is the perfect pairing for this record....

B side label is simply another found photo, but a weird one at that.  extra points for the black dust sleeve too...

thanks again for the submission guys, this is a No Breaks / Let's Pretend split.
