got a great submission from my good friend andrew and his "Label Of Love" Records, the new Siamese Twins 7" ep. texturally rich and painfully desaturated photography make for very compelling front and back cover art. the weathered and desolate scenes depicted in these photographs create a great sense of emptiness and sorrow that match the soundscape of this release perfectly. i almost wish this was a folded jacket and not glued sleeve, because the front and back panels make a beautiful diptic when viewed side by side...
all of the typography on the front and back cover is a hand written cursive that has been kearned out and carefully placed around the outer edges of the photographs, a simple design gesture that feels informal but should never be understated.....
the printed lyric sheet within is on an off white heavy text weighted paper and looks to be offset printed. on the front side you have the lyrics to these 2 songs hand written out within the shape of a small box in the center of the panel.
all the liner notes can be found on the flipside, also hand written within a small box frame. nice and classy looking....
the A and B labels are my favoring part of this release. the cropping of these images creates a collage element that further evokes a sense of loss and nostalgia. seriously beautiful stuff happening here...
all of andrew's releases are made in small quantity with a focus on quality of product and the lost art of making fantastic records.. please stop by his web store today and pick up a copy for yourself.
