a seriously great submission came in a little while back that i have been dying to post up, i've just been super busy with too many other things. the Voight Kampff 7 song cassette is one of the best modern post-punk releases i've ever heard, and they were able to complement their sound with a very sophisticated sense of design and a crisp layout. if this cover image of their simple yet beautiful VK logo is making you think "bauhaus" design movement, i'm fairly certain it's not a coincidence...
on the back panel of the cassettes J-card, you have the A and B side track listing written out with a scratchy hand writing. it looks really nice contrasted against all the hard angles and bold lines of the VK logo. the white on white tape / insert does a good job setting the mood for the first track "the great white north"...
the J-card has 3 panels that fold out to display the A side lyrics, which were neatly typed out and labeled with the hand written titles from the back of the cassette...
flip the J-card over and the lyrics to the B side are displayed along with an interestingly anonymous-looking live shot....
the cassettes are solid white shells, adorned with the most minimal of printing....
if you were looking at their VK logo and thinking to yourself "man, that would make for a great shirt" like i was, they've got you covered....
hit these guys up and see if they have any copies of this cassette left, you won't be sorry.
