i recently picked up this great book of Daniel Johnston art at a local record store, not sure if it's new but it was the first time i ever came across it. i've been a huge fan of Daniel's art for many years and always enjoy seeing his work in galleries, so i was very excited to add another one of his books to my collection. what i really love about his work is that it is brutally honest in its intent. Daniel is able to go out and create whatever he feels like without any sense of concern for an audience. in this book, Rizzoli New York was able to compile a collection of more than 80 never-before-seen artworks spanning Daniel's entire career. this is a beautifully printed hardcover book with a fold-out poster sleeve. as always, the work showcased on these pages are a colorful explosion of pure surrealist expression. check out some of my favorite pics and then go search out a copy of this book for yourself.....
